What to do with your Myrtle Beach Tours T-shirt (#8)
With the chill of winter setting in (although slowly), your Myrtle Beach Tours T-shirts are finding hidden places in wardrobes and closets. But keep one or two out. You can hang on to them for the cold weather after all by making a turtleneck!
Materials: T-shirt
safety-pin or seam-cutter
scissors
needle and thread
1. Remove the sleeves from the T-shirt using the seam cutter or pull the threads apart with a safety pin.
2. Fold in the exposed edges to make a sleeveless tee. Sew in place.
3. Turn one sleeve inside out. Turn the T-shirt inside out. Place the sleeve into the neck, and line up the T-shirtneck with the unsewn edge of the sleeve. Fold and sew together.
4. Turn the shirt right side out. The sleeve is now a turtleneck that can be folded over to be right-side out and to keep you warm!
BONUS: The other sleeve can be sewn together at one end. Attach a ribbon at the top to make a little matching purse.
Voila! Your turtleneck tee is ready! You could sew on arms if you like (old tights work well as arms) or throw on a jacket. If the holes are too wide and the shirt is too wide, too, just fold in the inside and make a straight stitch from the sleeve to the bottom on both sides, or add darts. How warm AND pretty! Makes a great christmas gift!
This ridiculous waste of a T-shirt was shamelessly stolen from Rani's Home Page
